Curlstad International

Competition & registration

About

Curlstad International will be played in Karlstads Curling Arena and will host up to 16 womens junior teams and 16 mens junior teams. The competition will be played according to the World Curling rules. 

The event will start Friday around 12 and finishes with the final on Sunday at 2 pm.

Karlstad is located on the western side of Sweden with excellent train connections from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Oslo approximately 2,5-3 hours from each of those cities.

Practice & LSD

10 minutes before scheduled starting time there is 5 min practice per team where team first on the schedule plays first with red stones. Practice is followed by two LSD draws. One clockwise and one clockwise rotation. Two different players must throw the LSD:s

Game

All matches are played over 8 ends with an extra end if necessary. If no points are scored in the extra end the teams will play one draw to the button each for the game.

Team with hammer in the extra end will decide which team draws first. Free choice of turn for the first team. The second team plays the opposite turn.

Teams make their own in game measurements. If the teams do not come to an agreement the umpire can be called in.

Time out

Teams are allowed one, one minute time out per game and one time out in extra ends. . Opposition coach may discuss with their team aswell during time outs.

Competition format

Will be published after final entries are in.

Entry Fee: 4500 SEK/team.

Entry fee includes one dinner for a maximum of five team members.
