MD Haugesund
We are excited to welcome teams to the first Mixed Doubles event in Haugesund, marking an important step for curling in Haugesund and the southwest region of Norway. With a compact format, strong competition and a player-friendly setup, the event aims to create a new annual meeting point for Mixed Doubles teams in the Nordic curling calendar.

Competition & registration
About the event
This is a new event part of the Nordic Curling Mixed Doubles Tour. Haugesund is located on the southwestern shores of Norway.
The event will be played Thursday-Saturday. First game will start mid-day Thursday. Final and 3rd prize game will be played around 12 Sunday.
Group stage & Playoffs
There are 3 groups of 5 teams. Top 8 overall from groupstage proceeds to quarterfinals.
1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5
Hammer or choice of color will follow the highest ranked teams in the playoffs. Ranking is determined by: 1. Wins 2. LSD
Practice & LSD
10 minutes before scheduled starting time there is 5 min practice per team where team first on the schedule plays first with red stones. Team that has had practice plays the clockwise followed by the counter-clockwise LSD.
This LSD is to decide hammer and later used to decide playoff-teams through the overall ranking if other factors are not enough. Two worst LSD:s will be removed.
Practice and LSD will be announced.

Travel
Closest airport is Haugesund Airport approx 20 min by car. Stavanger Airport is approx 1,5 hour by bus or car.
Hotel
There are lots of hotels located in the city centre of Haugesund to choose from.
We are working with Hotel Amanda for your stay during this event.
