About the event

Oslo Cup for women will this year be moving to Bygdøy curling rink in Oslo and will host 12 women's teams on 2 sheets.

The tournament is played according to the World Curling Federation rules. Measurement will be done by 1 point measurement. The whole event will be streamed at Nordic Curling Tours YouTube page.

The event starts Thursday morning and finishes with final Sunday around 2-3pm. It's advised to arrive Wednesday. There is also a good opportunity to plan your early season practice in the club the days prior to the event. The club will open for booking of time slots for this. More info in the chapter "Training before the tournament" later in the text.

Practice & LSD

10 minutes before scheduled starting time there is 5 min practice per team where team first on the schedule plays first with yellow stones. Team that has had practice plays one LSD. First team chooses anti clockwise or clockwise rotation. Next team plays the opposite rotation.

This LSD is to decide hammer and later used if internal results isn’t enough to decide playoff-teams. The worst LSD is later removed from results.

If your LSD is on the button you will be as asked to play another draw without sweepers.

Practice and LSD will be announced.

Game

All matches are played over 8 ends with a shootout if tied.

Team that normally would have had hammer in the extra end decides which team draws first. Free choice of turn for the first team. The second team plays the opposite turn.

Teams make their own in- game measurements. If the teams do not come to an agreement the umpire can be called in.

Points for group games:

Win in reg: 3

Win in shootout: 2

Loss in shootout: 1

Loss in reg: 0

(Wins from shootout will rank lower than normal wins)

Group Stage

The women’s teams have 2 groups of 6 teams where group winners go straight to semifinals and overall ranked 3-6 go on to the quarterfinals.

3rd-6th, 4th-5th

*In playoffs the highest ranked team from groupstage gets lowest ranked team in semifinal.

Overall ranking is based on: a) Wins b) LSD
