This event in Karlstad is coming back as the tour finale of Nordic Curling Tour 2026 but a bit earlier than usual due to the Olympics. It will once again be the biggest event on tour with spots for 15 women's teams and 20 men's teams.
Karlstad Curling Club with 8 sheets in its modern rink hosted a great event with excellent ice conditions during last years event.
Team Wranå won the women's division and Team Craik won the men's last year. This was Wranås second straight title in Karlstad, will there be a third?
The Nordic Curling Tour is usually decided in this event!!

Competition & registration
About the event
Sun City Cup will be played at Karlstad curling rink and will be the last event on tour hosting 20 men's and 15 women's teams.
All teams with get at least 4 games.
The event will be played 22-25 January. First games Thursday at around noon. Final is being played Sunday early afternoon.
Group stage
Group stage with quarterfinals.
Games will be played over 8 ends. If there is a tie after 8 ends there will be a draw to the button for the win. Team that would have hammer will have choice of first or second draw and side. Teams can choose same side. No practice draws.
Points for group games:
Win in reg: 3
Win in shootout: 2
Loss in shootout: 1
Loss in reg: 0
(Wins from shootout will rank lower than normal wins)
Groupstage ranking into the playoffs: Points, LSD
Top 8 overall in both divisions qualifies to the quarters.
Highest ranked team from groupstage gets choice of hammer throughout the playoffs. The other team gets choice of stones and will get 2nd practice.
Practice & LSD
10 minutes before scheduled starting time there is 5 min practice per team where team first on the schedule plays first with yellow stones. Team that has had practice plays one LSD. First team chooses anti clockwise or clockwise rotation. Next team plays the opposite rotation.
This LSD is to decide hammer and later used to decide playoff-teams through the overall ranking if internal games are not enough.
Worst LSD will be removed.
Practice and LSD will be announced.
Dinner
- Dinner Saturday from 18:00 / 6pm at the rink included for 5 people. Additional people can purchase tickets with deadline Thursday (200,–)
- Drinks can be bought at the dinner

Entry fee is 7500,- SEK (excl 6% Swedish vat).
Pay this entry fee in our webshop after receiving confirmation to reserve your spot in the event. In case of withdrawal entry fee will only be reimbursed when and if another team fills and pays for this spot.

Travel
Closest major airports are Oslo Gardermoen (2,5h) and the two Stockholm-airports Arlanda or Skavsta (3h).
